Each site is $32.00/night minimum -- for 1 to 4 persons. Each additional person is $8.00 per person per night with up to 10 persons per site. (Children 8 years old and under are free)

You can call in to reserve or reserve online. If done online, one person has to reserve and pay for all that are using the site. If not, you will need to sign up as a group to have each pay separately.

Non-profit Group Rates--Mid-week (non-holiday)--for church, school and scouts-each site is $20/night minimum for 1 to 4 persons. Each additional person is $5.00 per person per night with up to 10 persons per site.

We reserve a space for you but not a specific site. It is 'first come first serve' on selecting a site.

Sites: We have 25 wooded sites that each have a picnic table and fire ring. Most sites are under large Oak trees, with some under pines. The sites are setup for 10 people/site for group camping. A few sites in the pines are perfect for the one or two tent group. (No electric at sites and no dump facilities)

Facilities: There are restrooms, hot water showers, firewood for sale, a small camp store at the Shenandoah River Outfitters where canoeing, kayaking, rafting and tubing rentals are available.

Rules and Regulations: “Quiet Time from 11 PM to 7 AM”.

1) no shouting, loud music or other loud noise after 11 PM
2) no fireworks or noise makers any time
3) no intoxication from alcohol or drugs--Virginia laws to be obeyed
4)Violators have been asked to leave and/or not to return in the future
5)Please no firewood from out-of-state or from quarantined areas of Virginia. Firewood is sold at the Outfitters and in Luray.

The Page County Board of Supervisors have a “noise ordinance” that does not allow for any loud noise to be heard beyond the boundaries of the property. Due to the geography of the area, the campground is like a “stage in an amphitheater” with the neighborhood of over 100 homes and families being the “unfortunate audience.” We do not want our neighbors to be disturbed by our campground. We also do not want the sheriff’s office visiting the campground and giving tickets to the noise makers.
There are other areas where you can camp if your group is one that likes to “blow off steam, party late, etc.” There is George Washington National Forest nearby and also other campgrounds in the area.

Location: Camp OutBack is located behind Shenandoah River Outfitter's Store in an area that borders on George Washington National Forest -Lee Ranger District. The Shenandoah River is a short quarter mile walk from Camp OutBack for fishing and wading, or just relaxing. Within one-half mile is a 10 acre lake in the G.W. National Forest. Hiking trails are within 6-15 miles for organized trails, two miles for more rugged trails. Horseback riding is within 8 to 25 miles away. The Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive is within 25 minutes. Luray Caverns and Antique Car museum is within 15 minutes. Civil war sites are within 30 minutes. Antiquing, shopping and dining are within 15 minutes in the quaint town of Luray and surrounding area.
